Created in conjunction with The Royal Navy Submariners, to celebrate the proud history of the Submarine Service, THE DOLPHINS is naturally light gold in colour and richly layered with the enticing flavours of exotic fruits, hints of sweet vanilla and soft white pepper, wrapped in our signature aromatic peat smoke.

Having created THE BATTLE OF JUTLAND special commemorative whisky for The Royal Navy in 2016, we were honoured to be asked to create THE DOLPHINS with the Submariners This very special release is named after the Dolphins badge which is awarded to British Submariners on successful completion of one of the toughest courses in the world – the Submarine Command Course – aptly known as ‘Perisher’.

Who created the whisky?

THE DOLPHINS was created by Gordon Motion, our Master Whisky Maker.

Why is Highland Park doing this?

Having created THE BATTLE OF JUTLAND special commemorative bottle for The Royal Navy in 2016, we were honoured to be asked to create THE DOLPHINS as an officially licenced product for the Submarine Service.

What is the story behind the name?

The ‘Dolphins’ badge, featuring two dolphins and a crowned anchor, is awarded to British Submariners on successful completion of what is regarded as one of the toughest courses in the world – the Submarine Command Course, aptly known as ‘Perisher’.


THE DOLPHINS – How To Buy

Where is THE DOLPHINS available to buy?

Up until now THE DOLPHINS has only been available for sale in shops and bars on the Royal Navy submarine base at Faslane in Scotland since its introduction in summer 2017. We are releasing a limited number of bottles for Inner Circle members to buy, on a first come, first served basis from our online shop from 20th September 2018.    

Why has it not been made available for Inner Circle members to buy before now?

THE DOLPHINS was created in conjunction with the Royal Navy specifically for sale in the shops and bars on its Faslane base. Our agreement with them was that we could release a limited number of bottles to our Inner Circle members after 12 months had passed.

How much will THE DOLPHINS cost for Inner Circle members?

THE DOLPHINS will be available at a UK price of £40 for a 70cl bottle. For online orders delivered to addresses outside the UK, the price will vary due to local sales taxes and duties. All orders will be subject to a delivery charge which will vary by country based on the standard rates applied for a tracked package applied by our delivery partner, DHL. How many bottles can I buy?

Due to the limited nature of this release, orders of THE DOLPHINS are restricted to two bottle per person to ensure as many Inner Circle members as possible have the opportunity to buy. This applies at the distillery shop as well as to orders placed online. It is available to buy on a first come, first served basis, while stocks last.

How can I buy THE DOLPHINS online?

The opportunity to buy THE DOLPHINS online is only available to members of the Inner Circle. An email with details of how to buy will be sent to members on Thursday 20 September 2018. In order to receive this email, you must have completed the sign-up process for the Inner Circle before 5.00pm (UK time) on Wednesday 19 August 2018.

I am a member of the Inner Circle but have not received the email about buying THE DOLPHINS.

Do I also need to be registered with the Highland Park online shop to buy a bottle of THE DOLPHINS?


No, although registering on our online shop in advance will speed up the process of completing your order. You can register by following this link https://shop.highlandparkwhisky.com/account/register. We moved to a new online shop in September 2017 so if you created your account before then, you will need to register again.

How do I complete my order?

The email will include a link to a private page on the Highland Park online shop where you simply need to click ADD TO BASKET then follow the steps to complete your order.

I have received the email giving details of how to buy THE DOLPHINS online but I am experiencing problems completing my order.

THE DOLPHINS – Delivery Questions

Which countries can THE DOLPHINS be delivered to?

As with all whiskies sold on our online shop we are able to offer delivery of THE DOLPHINS  to Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the Channel Islands. Unfortunately, for legal reasons we not able to offer delivery to other countries at this stage although we are continuing to work on a solution to this.

Do I have to be a resident of these countries to purchase?

This whisky can only be delivered to addresses within Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the Channel Islands. However you do not need to be a resident of these countries to purchase providing you can give a shipping address within one of them.

Why is THE DOLPHINS not available for delivery to my country?

There are different legal issues that affect our ability to deliver whisky ordered online to addresses outside the UK. We are continuing to work on a solution that will allow us to deliver to a wider range of countries in the future.

What extra charges might apply for delivery to my chosen country?

All alcohol products we sell are subject to UK alcohol tax. If we are exporting products to an address in the European Union (EU) prices are subject to the appropriate rate of VAT and alcohol tax depending on the delivery country.

For all deliveries outside of the EU, UK VAT will not be charged. However, your order will be subject to local sales taxes and duties upon arrival in your chosen country, which are levied at the time the package clears customs. All additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient. As customs policies vary widely from country to country, we have no control over these charges. Please contact your local customs office for further information.

When will I receive my bottle?

We expect most orders to be delivered within 10 working days. If you have not received your bottle within 10 working days of ordering please contact email shop@highlandparkwhisky.com

Who will deliver my bottle?

Your order will be fulfilled by our fulfilment partners Mail Marketing UK and it will be delivered by DHL.

Can I specify a delivery date?

After your order you will receive a shipment notification from DHL which will allow you to track your delivery and delay delivery until a specific delivery date using the holiday hold option.

Can I collect my bottle purchased online from the Highland Park Distillery?

At this time we cannot offer collection of whisky ordered online from the distillery. 

What is the process if I want to return my purchase of THE DOLPHINS?

If you wish to return products which are not damaged, please contact us on shop@highlandparkwhiksy.com with details of your order within 7 days of delivery of the goods. Any returned products must be returned to us in good condition, with all packaging intact.

My order has not arrived – what is going on?

We expect most orders to be delivered within 10 working days. If it has been over 10 working days since you placed your order please contact email shop@highlandparkwhisky.com and we will come back to you with an update as soon as we can.

It’s been over 10 working days since I placed my order and it has still has not been delivered – what is going on?

We are very sorry to hear that you have experienced a delay in receiving your order. Please email shop@highlandparkwhisky.com and we will come back to you with an update as soon as we can.

My bottle of THE DOLPHINS is damaged, can you help?

If upon delivery of your order, the goods are damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 3 working days of receipt by emailing shop@highlandparkwhisky.com . Please provide as much information as possible including your order number and details of any damage including photographs. We will do our best to provide a replacement if available. If a replacement is not available we will refund the full cost of the item only. No compensation will be paid.
